IO programs teach participants to document their life changes and become leaders promoting change in others. We focus on community outreach to build skills and develop healthy social networks. Classes are family-focused and multigenerational.

Our Financial Empowerment Program enables families to build wealth by teaching savings and investing habits, creating a community to build accountability, and partnering with local organizations to ensure sustainability. The program provides hands-on professional development training in financial empowerment, innovative and non-linear thinking, as well as negotiation and self-advocacy skills.

Program features include:

  • Innovative Penn GSE-Wharton curriculum that teaches budgeting, saving, and investing
  • Unique Saving and Investing Clubs
  • Strong institutional support from participating community & university partners
  • Focus on increasing parental/family engagement at Philadelphia schools

IO’s Mill Creek site provides physical health and digital literacy programming for community residents in partnership with Mill Creek Recreation Center & The Men of Mill Creek Community Center

  • Line Dancing Classes at Mill Creek Recreation Center, 4700 Brown Street
  • Wednesdays 5:30 to 7 pm
  • Digital Literacy Classes at Men of Mill Creek, 4656 Brown Street
  • Wednesdays 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm
  • Zumba class at Mill Creak Recreation Center, 4700 Brown Street
  • Thursdays 7:30-9 pm
